Swami Vivekananda established the Ramakrishna Mission on 1st May 1897 at Kolkata. On 1st May 2022, the 125th Foundation Day of Ramakrishna Mission was observed at Vivekananda Sabhagriha of Ramakrishna Mission, Narottam Nagar. The program commenced with lighting the lamp, amidst Vedic chanting by students. Swami Achyuteshananda, Secretary in his welcome address motivated all to serve for the cause of humanity. Br. Jnanatmachaitanya presented a slideshow on Ramakrishna Mission. Mst. DehguPulu read out the proceedings of the first and second meetings of Ramakrishna Mission. The Chief Guest Dr.Sharat Chauhan, Principal Secretary, Finance, Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, while making an in-depth observation of the school, appreciated the students for their excellent academic performance and disciplined demeanour. Smt. Sankriti Chauhan and Sri DuyuRibia, ADC Deomali and Swami Sudarshananandaji also graced the occasion. Melodious musical rendering was presented by students and teachers. All staff members were presented with gifts on the joyous occasion.
Started in 1971, Ramakrishna Mission’s branch at Narottam Nagar runs one of the most acclaimed residential schools of Arunachal Pradesh. Spread over a large campus of about three hundred acres in the confluence of Namsang and Dehing rivers, the school has played a key role in shaping the life of Arunachali boys. To mark fifty years of its glorious existence and selfless service in the remote forests of challenging Tirap district, a six-day long Golden Jubilee Celebration was organized in its premises during 18-23 May 2022.
The Celebration was formally inaugurated on 21st May 2022 by Sri Amit Shah, Hon’ble Union Home Minister. Other Ministers who joined him in the celebration are Sri KirenRijiju, Union Minister for Law and Justice, Sri Pema Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Sri Chowna Mein, Dy. Chief Minister, Sri Tapir Gao, Member of Parliament, State Cabinet Ministers Sri Bamen Felix, Sri WangkiLowang and others.
Sri Amit Shah, as Chief Guest of the function unveiled an eighteen feet high statue of Swami Vivekananda (30 feet from road level including pedestal) by the side of a new 2.6 km diversion road that would free the campus of Ramakrishna Mission from public trespassing, gifted few cows, laid foundation stone for new hostel buildings, released a special documentary video and a commemorative Souvenir. As submitted by the Secretary of the Centre and under advice of Shri Amit Shah, Shri Pema Kandu, Chief Minister declared that the new diversion road by the side of which the statue of Swami Vivekananda has been unveiled would be named “Vivekananda Marg”. About 5000 people attended the Public Meeting on 21st May which is huge considering sparse population in the region.
The Alumni Meet held on 20 May 2022 was first such Get-together for the past pupils of the institution. Shri Pema Khandu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh was Chief Guest for the function. Sri Tapir Gao, Member of Parliament, Arunachal Pradesh, Shri WangkiLowang, Minister for PHE, W.S. &DoTCL, Arunachal Pradesh and Sri TabaTedir, Hon’ble Minister for Education and Cultural Affairs, (the last two also Alumnus of Ramakrishna Mission), Smt. Padmini Singla, IAS, Commissioner (Education) and Shri Prashant SitaramLokhande, IAS, Commissioner (Planning & Investment) were other honored guests. About 500 alumni participated in the day long function and presented cultural items in the evening. All the Alumnus were presented special memento and other gifts.
Before all these events, on 18 May, a special Get-together for Monastics was organized. About fifty monastics including those currently serving at Narottam Nagar participated. Reminiscences by senior swamis about the challenges faced at Narottam Nagar and how it could be taken to new heights was the theme of discussion.
Huge steel-structured pandal, ornamented gates, cultural programme by different tribes from the region, Odissi dance by professionals etc. added to the grandeur of the celebration. All Staff including their family members were gifted T-shirt/Sarees and were provided festive food on 21 and 22 May. Participants were presented Golden Jubilee gift kits.
Most Revered Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, Vice President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math blessed 106 devotees, including some local Tribals with Mantra Diksha on 19th and 23rd May 2022.
The department of agriculture and land maintenance organized Vanamahotsav with the help of the Deomali Forest Department on 05th June 2022, World Environment Day at Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar.
In the meeting held at Higher Secondary Ground, the students of classes 5 to 10 and some students of class 12 took part along with monastic members and staff members of the institution and Forest Department.
Swami Achyuteshanandaji, Secretary, RKM and Sri Ankit Kumar, IFS, DFO, Deomali, emphasized the importance of the environment and called upon the youth to be responsible citizens towards Mother Earth. Swami Jneyanandaji the Principal welcomed and Swami Premaghananandaji, Assistant Secretary of the institution thanked all.
The plantation drive commenced near the Shiva statue area. Various saplings like Sal, Neem, pear, litchi, Plum, etc., were planted at various parts of the institution.
On 8th International Yoga Day, the students of Ramakrishna Mission School Narottam Nagar performed Yoga with full zeal and Enthusiasm.
Inter-house football final competition of secondary section held on 22nd June 2022 at Mahavir Stadium ground between Samrat Ashoka House and Prithviraj Chauhan House. Swami Achyuteshanandaji, Secretary inaugurated the final match. Prithviraj Chauhan bagged the trophy.
RathaYatra was celebrated on 1st July 2022 with religious fervour and gaiety in Narottam Nagar. On this occasion, Chariot of Lord Jagannatha was pulled out from Primary Hostel to Devabhumi by a large number of students, teachers and devotees. Prasad was served to all.
Return Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra was celebrated joyfully at Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar on Saturday, 9th July 2022.
The journey commenced from Devabhumi Temple and concluded at Primary Hostel via Vivekananda Road. Devotees offered puja at various places. Students, staff members and devotees joined monastic members. Monastic and staff members' bhajans made the journey more cheerful and enjoyable. At Primary Hostel all were served with prasad.
A two-day workshop on LED bulb and tube light making was organized at Vivekananda Sabhagriha of Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar on 14th and 15th July 2022.Electronics section students of classes 7 to 9 along with some other students took part in the training. Sri Siddhartha Deb, Resource Person from Tinsukia, Assam trained the students in the concept and intricacies of LED bulb making. During the training students prepared about 88 bulbs and 50 tube lights.
The final match of the Inter-house volleyball tournament of secondary section held on Monday, 18th July 2022 between Samrat Ashoka House and MahaRanapratap House. MahaRanapratap House bagged the trophy.
Students of class 8 performed a NukkadNatak on Energy Efficiency at Community Hall, Deomali, Arunachal Pradesh at a function organized by the Dept. of Power on Wednesday 27th July 2022.
The final match of inter hostel football among middle hostel students was held between Team Aastha and Team Lagan at Middle Hostel Field on Thursday, 28th July 2022. Team Aastha bagged the trophy.
The final match of Inter block football tournament among the Higher Secondary Hostel Students was held on 08th August 2022 at Mahavir Stadium between Acharya Ramanuj Block and Acharya Vivek Block. Acharya Ramanuj Block bagged the trophy.
Singles and Doubles Table Tennis competition among the students of classes 7, 8 and 9 was held at Vivekananda Sabhagriha on 11th August 2022.
Naveen Varan - Freshers' Welcome was held on 14th August 2022 at Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar. A special Puja of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna was held in the morning followed by a ritualistic Havan in which the newcomers took oaths and offered bel leaf.
At 9.45 a.m the freshers were welcomed by senior students at secondary prayer hall, the freshers introduced themselves during the function. In the evening at Vivekananda Sabhagriha the newcomers presented various cultural shows and mesmerized the audience.
The 76thIndependence Day was celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm. Lieutenant TomthinKongkham, 18 Garhwal Rifles, commanding officer, Deomali was the Chief Guest on this occasion. He hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering. After the march past, the boys performed Band Display, Yogasana, Pyramid and several other cultural events based on patriotism. Students of Maa Sarada Vidyalaya also participated in the celebration.
The inter hostel volleyball competition among the students of higher secondary hostel commenced on 17th August at the higher secondary volleyball court. And the final match of the inter-block volleyball competition among the students of higher secondary hostel was held on 22nd July 2022 between Acharya Ramanuja block and Acharya Vivekanand block. Acharya Ramanuja block bagged the trophy.
Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with a special puja to Govinda Ji at Devabhumi Temples on Thursday 18thAugust 2022. Children dressed as Krishna and Balram performed dance and bhajans at the temple. While children of Primary Hostel sang various bhajans. Special arati to Mother Kali, Maheshwara Shiva was performed along with arati to Govindaji. All were served with Khichdi prasad at hand.
The Table Tennis competition among the students of Higher Secondary Hostel was held on 18th August 2022 at Chetana Hall of Higher Secondary Hostel.
Inter Hostel Fancy Dress competition among the students of class I to XII was held at the Vivekananda Sabhagriha. Students with different costumes charmed the audience.
Teachers’ Day was observed with a special programme held at the Vivekananda Sabhagriha of Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar at 6.30 p.m. Dr.MonshiTayeng, Principal, Wangcha Rajkumar College, Deomali, was the Chief Guest. All the teachers, students and staff members with their families attended the programme.
Gifts were given to all the teachers on this occasion. All the teachers had dinner at the Secondary Hostel Dining Hall.
To commemorate the 129th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda Chicago Address and as a part of AzadiKa Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, a special function was held at the Higher Secondary Section Chetana Hall of Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar.
Swami Vedasaranandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Dibrugarh, Chief Guest and Swami Achyuteshanandaji, Secretary of the institution addressed the gathering.
Teachers and students presented various speeches, stories, self-composed poems etc., on Swami Vivekananda. A special quiz, display of drawings of Swami Vivekananda etc., too mesmerized the audience. All were served with light refreshments after the function.
Viswakarma Puja was celebrated in our campus on 17th September 2022 with due solemnity. After Puja Prasad was served to all the staff members and devotees.21
